Beetsterzwaag is a 31.7 kilometre forest loop laced with singletrack and plenty of rooted terrain. The roots demand technical handling even though the climbing stays modest.
Trail sections alternate with some hardened roads, and the rooty parts make speed hard to carry, so flow can feel broken. The reward is scenery past Friesian estates, the Koningsdiep waterway and a golf course.
Singletrack through woodland with much rooted ground that keeps the front wheel busy.
Nearly 32 kilometres with only 73 metres of climbing, rated beginner friendly.
Beautiful old estates, the Koningsdiep and a golf course line the route.
Add a token and a touch of fork pressure for the constant roots, but keep the tyres a little higher so they roll comfortably across the long 32 kilometre loop.
