A fast, sandy 9.7 km forest loop on the Mookerheide south of Nijmegen. Flowing singletrack, gentle gradients and well-drained soil make Malden the perfect place to dial in a supple, low-pressure trail setup.
One signed loop, ridden clockwise. Mostly hard-packed sand through pine and birch, with a handful of short punchy rises and swooping descents. Nothing technical: it rewards flow, momentum and a setup that stays supple over roots and loose corners.
Short, repeated rises rather than long climbs, so momentum matters more than gears.
Sandy soil rides well within a day of rain, one of the most reliable wet-season loops nearby.
Approachable enough for a first off-road ride, flowy enough that fast riders still grin.
On sand, grip comes from the tyre conforming, not from a firm platform. Run 2 to 3 psi lower than your bike-park pressure front and rear, and add a token only if you bottom on the punchy rises.
