A compact intermediate loop through the Bakelse Bos near Helmond in Noord-Brabant, made up almost entirely of singletrack. It packs continuous turns and many short climbs into a tidy nine kilometres.
Sandy in places but well maintained and rideable, the trail uses the forest's natural relief for plenty of short punchy climbs. Flowing corners link together through a 115-hectare stand of pine and mixed conifer.
Almost the whole loop winds through coniferous woodland on narrow trail.
Linked turns and varied inclines keep the rhythm going from start to finish.
Some sections turn loose and sandy but stay rideable year-round.
Soft, sandy Brabant ground with short climbs: set tyres a psi or two below your usual pressure before you ride for grip, there are no hard hits to punish it.
