Feed, friends and teams

Dialed is built for the parking-lot conversation: what pressures are you running, how was the trail today, what did your mechanic change. The social layer moves that conversation online without ever forcing your data public.

The feed

The feed shows activity from riders you follow: new setups, rides, new bikes, replaced parts, service visits, events and photos. Every item can be opened, clicked and commented on. You choose per item who sees it, and the feed respects that choice for every viewer.

Follows and friends

Following someone is one-directional, like you expect. When two riders follow each other they are friends, which unlocks the friends visibility tier: records marked "friends" are visible to mutuals only. That makes "friends" a meaningful middle ground between private and public.

Teams

Teams group riders: a club, a crew, a race team. Since today, joining is consent-based: a team sends an invitation and you accept or decline it, on the web or in the iPhone app under Profile, in Teams. Team members see each other's team-visible rides and setups in their feed.

Privacy, the short version

Every shareable record (setup, ride, photo, bike) carries its own visibility: private, friends, team or public. Defaults are conservative; nothing becomes public because you forgot a checkbox. The privacy documentation has the fine print.
